Apeiranthos
Apeiranthos is a pretty village on the slops of Mount Zas and was supposed to have originally been settled by Cretans. The Folk Art Museum is an interesting place to visit.
Panagia Apeirathitissa is one of the oldest and remarkable churches of Naxos Island with some excellent post Byzantine icons. Zevgoli Tower is an impressive building since 17th century and it is situated on a massive rock. Agia Kyriaki church at Kalloni area of Apeiranthos district, has unstructured walls with small openings. Its decoration reflects to the Iconoclastic period (9th century).
Places to visit in Apeiranthos include the Archaeological Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Geological Museum.
